This exhibition celebrates the vibrant artistic journey of Susannah Cox, deceased 1994 aged 49. Susannah studied at the National Art School, formally East Sydney Technical College. The strong influence of The Impressionists, particularly Van Gogh, is apparent in many works within the collection.
Through suffering and extreme trauma in childhood and early adulthood, her journey is one of the triumphs told through the visual medium of her work. This collection of work spans across an expressive range including painting, screen printing, pastels and pencil drawings. Bringing together key pieces from across her life, the collection highlights her keen observational eye, her sensitivity to texture and tone, and her enduring commitment to exploring human experience through art.
